EXPLORING BALI

We will explore two very different areas of Bali to gives us a wide array of wonderful experiences. Uluwatu and Ubud.

ULUWATU

First, we will stay in the most southerly part of Bali, where you will find the most beautiful beaches, in the Uluwatu area.
Our home for 5 nights is the beautiful, cliff-top Uluwatu Surf Villas overlooking the vast Indian Ocean. Located just minutes away from the
Uluwatu Temple where we will attend the performance of the Balinese traditional Kecak Dance. We will be welcomed with a traditional
Balinese Welcoming Ceremony. We will also enjoy 2 massage treatments here.
Outings to local beaches and temples will fill some of our days; other days we will relax and enjoy our massage treatments.
Glorious sunsets and starry nights will amaze us in this wide open setting. The Uluwatu area is a surfers paradise and surf lessons can be arranged on request. Our breakfast, lunch and dinners will be prepared for us by in-house staff at this outstanding facility.

UBUD

The second part of our journey will take us to Ubud; regarded as the cultural centre of Bali. Here, we will experience the richness of the culture, the arts, the cuisine and the spa treatments! We will stay at the Honeymoon Guesthouse. A charming, small hotel with it’s elegant Balinese style
guest rooms set in lush tropical gardens. The hotel has a lovely covered yoga studio.

The Honeymoon Guesthouse is situated only a five-minute walk away from the heart of Ubud. It has a lovely pool and in-house cafe.
All rooms are spacious with ensuite bathrooms and are either aircon or fan cooled. We will enjoy a Balinese welcome and a farewell dinner, as well as all our breakfasts, together at the Guesthouse. Lunches and some dinners will be had “out-and-about” in Ubud, where there are many fantastic places to eat…and at very reasonable prices! (you will be responsible for these meals). We will be treated to two guided walks and 2 massage treatments, as well as a market tour and cooking class with lunch! Ubud is full of culture, temples, art galleries and there are traditional Balinese dance and music performances on most evenings in the temples and cultural spaces.

YOGA

A variety of yoga styles will be offered, such as Hatha, Hatha-Flow, Restorative, Yoga Nidra, Yin Style, Core Strengthening.
Twice daily meditation and pranayama classes.
We will be doing our yoga practice early in the morning (starting around 7 – 7:30am so as to beat the heat) as well as later in the afternoon and/or
evening. Most days we will do our practice twice a day; depending on outings.

PRANAYAMA & MEDITATION

Methodically work through pranayama techniques designed to purify the body and prepare the mind for meditation. Explore a number of meditation styles to find which one/s work best for you. Pranayama and meditation will be taught on a beginner level.

HOW TO GET THERE

Fly into Bali’s Denpasar International Airport (DPS) from many airports.
Airport pick-up is included on the first day and the last dayof the retreat.
If you arrive at other times, I can advise you on approximate costs of “car and drivers” (a common way to get around Bali).
They are very reasonably priced. For example, they are approx $25 – $35 from the airport to Ubud. It is over an hour drive. It is a shorter drive to Uluwatu from the airport. The best way is to ‘prepay’ for a driver at the airport That way you get a guaranteed rate.
